Chelsea FC Faces 74 Charges for Breaches of FA Regulations
Chelsea FC has been charged with 74 breaches of Football Association regulations, primarily related to agent payments and third-party investments in players. The charges span from 2009 to 2022, during Roman Abramovich’s ownership.
The breaches occurred mainly between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons and include violations of FA Football Agents Regulations, FA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries, and FA Third Party Investment in Players Regulations. Chelsea FC has until September 19, 2025, to respond to the charges.
If found guilty, Chelsea could face punishments such as a fine, settlement, or sporting sanctions, including points deduction or transfer ban. The club has cooperated fully with the FA, self-reporting potential breaches during the takeover process in May 2022 and making their books and historical data available for investigation.
Chelsea FC released a statement confirming their engagement with the FA and expressing optimism about concluding the matter swiftly.
